Culturally responsive ApproachES to Re-entry: Partnerships for Change
Trainer: Ida Terry, MA, LADC of REACH Training & Consulting

How do we facilitate re-entry for persons who were formerly incarcerated and have already "paid their debt to society," using culturally responsive strategies?
Formerly incarcerated individuals face numerous challenges transitioning from the “prison culture” back into society that has different cultural norms.
This four-hour workshop will help you identify evidenced based strategies that will enhance your existing culturally responsive engagement skills.
Describe the “prison culture” dynamics
Examine the impact of incarceration upon community reentry
Explore the stigma of being a formerly incarcerated person
Identify culturally responsive engagement strategies that promote individual transformation from dependency to independence
